► The kick-off meeting was held at CERN on 13 and 14 of January 2009. Its main purpose
was to bring together the
participants of the network, to form the management structure and
discuss details of the research and training programme and its
implementation. Click |

► Network training events and open training events which involve the researchers from several or all research projects. Whenever possible, the training will put emphasis on the common aspects in detector development.
1. The first network training event on electronics was held on 17 - 19 September 09. The training was organized by AGH / IFJ-PAN in Cracow. Coordinator: Marek Idzik. Click here for access to the event website. |
|
2. The second training event (open training event) was focused on Detector Simulation and Data Analysis (Geant4, ROOT). It took place from 28 - 30 January 2010 and was organized by University of Hamburg and DESY. Coordinator: Robert Klanner. Event website. |
|
3. The third MC-PAD network training event focused on Processing and Radiation Hardness of Solid State Detectors. It was held from 27 to 29 September 2010 at our partner Jozef-Stefan-Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Coordinator: Peter Krizan. Event website. This training event was combined with the MC-PAD midterm review. |

6. The sixth and last MC-PAD training will take place at GSI (Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung), Darmstadt Germany, from 19 to 21 March 2012. The scientific topics are 1) Heavy Ions - their physics, detection and applications, including a visit of the Heavy Ion Therapy centre in Heidelberg and 2) Calorimetry in high energy physics and spin-off in the medical field. Coordinator: Christian J. Schmidt Event website. |

► The annual meetings bring together all people involved in the network, i.e. the recruited researchers, their supervisors and the members of the Executive and Supervisory Boards. These meetings will start the preparation of the annual reports which will be completed in the following weeks.
1. Hamburg, 28 January 2010. Agenda and presentations (password protected) 2. Ljubljana, 29 September 2010. Agenda and presentations (password protected) 3. CERN, 16 March 2011, Agenda an presentation (password protected) |
►
The
closing meeting
or End of Network Event
is scheduled for 20 - 22 September 2012
at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati,
Italy. We will have presentations of all
our Researchers and ritically review and
compare the overall scientific progress
with the goals, as well as judge the
achievements and impact of the network
in the fields training and
dissemination.

►
The network partners organize local training events
to which MC-PAD Researchers from the other partners can participate.
Examples: Training course on presentation techniques (posters, slide
presentations): CERN, 18 - 20 Nov 2009. 5 MC-PAD participants.
► Poster exhibition at CERN. Researchers of MC-PAD and other Marie Curie networks (ACEOLE, CLOUD, DITANET and PARTNER) explain their activities during the CERN Council week (13-17 September 2010). MC-PAD was represented by 6 posters (36 MB !). EU representatives as well as members of CERN Council and top management showed great interest in the scientific and training activities of the networks. Click here for a photo set.
