Financial Conditions

Institutes / organizations on the MC-PAD training network receive generous allowances from the European Commission as contributions towards the expenses incurred for hosting a researcher. This includes a monthly living allowance and a number of other allowances (mobility, travel, career exploration) which make the financial conditions even more attractive. The monthly living and mobility allowances are adjusted, applying a country-dependent correction factor for the cost of living in the country where the researcher has been recruited. For the countries, represented in MC-PAD, this factor varies between 71.6 (Poland) and 116.3 (Switzerland). At reporting time, the European Commission looks carefully at payments to make sure that researchers receive the amounts to which they are entitled under the conditions of the contract that has been signed between MC-PAD and the Commission.

Researchers are normally recruited under an employment contract/fellowship with full social security coverage. The deductions for social security coverage depend on the national legislation in the country in which the researcher is recruited.

The amounts listed below are based on the memorandum 'European Commission C(2007)562 of 26.02.07'.

MC-PAD does not guarantee their correctness. The information is not legally binding.
